Sorry baseball purists. The abominations of the expansion era, the Tampa Bay "Devil" Rays still have life in their bid to win baseballs biggest prize. After trailing in the series, The Rays held off the defending champions in an eleven inning slugfest. It was a close game but not the kind we are used to when Beckett starts against the Rays. He just isn't right. Both pitchers gave up a bunch of runs in the first five innings. The bullpen of the Rays wasn't perfect, but Tampa had enough of a lead from Beckett's struggles to hold them off until the eleventh when playoff star B.J. Upton hit a sac fly for the win.

BJ Upton had another homer last night. His power is back and he looks to be huge next season.

Longoria homered and is further solidifying his stature as no longer a top prospect but a top player in this league.

To my amazement, the Greek God of Walks, Kevin Youkilis, continues his hot season with a homer and a .357 average to this point in the playoffs. His overall numbers with that 29-homer power were quite the breakout for Kevin. I'd trade him and cash in. I don't see him topping this career year, but he continues to suprise me with his upside.

Superstar prospect, David Price, earned the win last night after coming into the high pressure situation in the eleventh with a man on and one out. He walked Drew and retired the next two.

Pedroia homered twice in a losing effort last night. If that power continues to grow for the 25-year-old two bagger, his upside could be astronomical. 30-30 from 2B? 20-20 alone with that kind of average is enough to make him a top-10 fantasy player in value.
