The Cardinals are reportedly talking with San Diego about Mr. Peavy and Mr. Greene. 590AM KFNS says the two teams are in talks and one can hypothesize that Rasmus, Anderson and other prospects and youngsters would have to be on the other end of the deal. That would be an ace pitcher to strengthen that decent staff and a power middle infielder like the Cardinals haven't had before.

Albert Pujols underwent relatively minor surgery on his elbow in comparison with TJS. He is expected to be back by spring training which is important news. Dr. George Paletta performed the proceedure. I went to see George once when I lived in St. Louis, and he was the first doctor to tell me I didn't need surgery on my shoulder. Man, am I glad I didn't. Pujols is in good hands.

Rays slugged the Sox to death with the help of the Green Monster Monday. BJ Upton and Longoria were again in the middle of the action with homers. Their hype continues to grow.

In a flip flop battle, The Phillies have moved to within one game of the World Series with the help of Victorino and Stairs. They each hit homers in a four-run eighth inning to seal the deal.
