Scour the waver wire everyday folks, as there is never a bad time to add hot bats or arms in the stretch run - let’s get it!
Kendrys Morales (1B/OF, KC) – Morales has 19 RBIs and 6 homeruns over the past two weeks, to go with 13 runs scored. KC is still on the playoff push and Morales can go on some epic runs, so if you need a bat and you are in the 35% of leagues where he is free, take a look.
Chad Bettis (SP, COL) – His last two outings totaled 16 IP, 2 W, 13:1 K:B. He also has a season ERA of 4.88… not exactly a comfy pickup. That being said, if he hits a five-start hot streak one would reap benefits at this time of year, with no real risk on a wire pick-up… could be worse, I suppose.
Kevin Kiermaier (OF, TB) – Kiermaier is hitting .375/.444/.708 with two home runs and six RBIs over the last seven days, and has a full-time job right now. His best month, historically, is September too. He has enough of a power-speed combo to be of value anywhere right now.
Alex Bregman (SS/3B, HOU) – Bregman is hitting .379/.400/.759 with two home runs and six runs, seven RBIs over the last seven days, and even sports a 1.001 OPS over the last 14 days. Dual position availability in the infield sells me on him, and he can be found in many leagues still for free.
Jarrod Dyson (OF, KC) – One-trick pony, no doubt… six stolen bases in eight games… add in nine runs, a double, two triples, four RBIs… found basically everywhere, and in rotisserie leagues he can win you (or save you in) a category many have given up on.
Kevin Gausman (SP, BAL) – Gausman is a must own right now I would say, with his last four starts tallying 25,2/3 IP, 4 W, 28:6 K:BB, with a single ER allowed – that’s pretty elite-level production this time of the year, why would you let it slip away. His season ERA of 3.58 is quite solid and Baltimore is still in the playoff hunt mode, which all bodes well for him to close 2016 strong.
